Here's a list of 5 ways I love to use yoga and its wisdom teachings to destress:
1. Meditate. - Choose from my growing playlist of guided meditations here on Youtube with various time lengths and themed by purpose.
2. Breathe Mindfully - My favorite breathing technique for calming the nervous system and helping to relieve headaches is this one, Alternate Nostril Breathing, or Nodhi Shodhana Pranayama:

3. Practice a restorative yoga pose, like Legs Up the Wall, or Viparita Karani. - In this 5-minute tutorial I begin instructing a cooling breathing technique called Sitali Pranayama before guiding you into the pose.
4. Practice ten minutes of gentle yoga asana (physical postures). - Here's one from my Morning 10 Morning Yoga Ritual Series that opens the body and breath while grounding you in embodied presence.
5. Just let your body move freely and practice surrendering and trusting your inner guidance. - One of my favorite daily morning rituals is a few minutes of what I call Soul Movement, that's just letting your body move, perhaps with eyes closed to tune inward--in a meditative flow. This is a way to practice the yogic teachings of non attachment (aparigraha) and surrendering to the Universe and life (isvara pranidhana) with a flavor of divine play (lila).
