Seeking a fun, healthy and inspiring way to reconnect with the world and re-emerge with confidence in body, mind and spirit?
Our psychology affects our physiology and how we relate to those around us. Set in the fresh air of nature, nourish your whole being through movement, mind-body stretch, courageous reflection, inner connection and friendly community support.

We'll start with the body...
Through samba dance, Irani will share her native Brazilian cultural values of embracing your body's natural beauty and living a healthy active lifestyle.  Entranced by Brazil's magical drumbeats, you'll sweat off layers of self-doubt while playfully using basic movements to awaken your inner fire.

And tending to mind and spirit, we'll embrace all of you.
Then, savor your aliveness, as you cool down through Yin and Restorative (relaxing, gentle deep stretch) yoga to rejuvenate your mind-body.  Using breath as gateway to your psyche, you'll nurture your innate seeds of confidence through guided heartfelt meditation.  We'll seal our practice by integrating insight and renewed alignment to your core self through journaling and heart-centered conversation.  

This 90-minute workshop is open to anyone who wants to reignite their inner and outer confidence and enjoy community under the open sky.  No prior dance or yoga experience needed. We welcome everyone who is ready to shine and help others shine!

Meet Your Workshop Facilitators

Irani DaSilva (photo on left), Brazilian native, is a choreographer, performer and teacher of Samba.  Her love for cultural dance, music and movement expanded her horizons to different dance styles such as bellydancing, afro-Brazilian, Bollywood, salsa and fusion.  Irani worked with LA’s top companies, and launched her own in 2010, the Sambarinas.  Irani and the Sambarinas have performed in various events,  television shows, tours and commercials.  By feeling and seeing the transformation that dance brings, Irani finds joy in instructing and sharing these great benefits with students of all ages and levels.  Irani has taught from kindergarteners to adults and from beginners to professionals. Her interest in personal growth through movement led her into a lifelong journey of healing,  discovering, and reinventing herself with dance and feels a purpose to share it. Irani is passionate about collaborating with her dear friend, dance colleague and yoga teacher, Michelle, in serving the community, promoting Confidence inside and out!  ​

Dance drew Michelle Chua (photo on right) to begin exploring yoga in 2001.  Through life challenges, like the struggles of living over a year alone abroad as a volunteer school teacher, yoga evolved into her daily spiritual practice to optimize whole well-being.  Inspired by how it continues to enrich her life and propelled to share yoga's profound gifts, Michelle earned her first yoga teacher certification in 2010 and since then has been facilitating yoga classes, workshops and retreats, through her community business, Root 2 Rise Yoga, to diverse communities seeking inner peace and vitality.  With past and current teachers, she continues to study the depths of yoga, immersing in topics such as Yoga Psychology, meditation, mindful leadership, energy centers (chakras), skillful physical yoga sequencing, trauma-informed yoga and more.  Connect with Michelle on Instagram @root2riseyoga
