For seekers of presence, cultural depth and mindful exploration, join Michelle Chua-- an inspired retreat facilitator since 2011-- for 10 days through the sacred landscapes of Nepal--from the timeless temples of Kathmandu to the serene lakes and Himalayan foothills of Pokhara.
Practice yoga, meditation and nature connection beneath the vast Himalayan sky, where mountains, temples and vibrant traditions invite reflection and presence. This mindful pilgrimage fosters deeper relationship--with yourself, your yoga practice, the natural world, our global community and the living traditions that have shaped the region for centuries.
Together we'll explore historic spiritual centers, trek gentle forest paths and engage in meaningful cultural exchange. Through direct experience of ancestral wisdom practices, Sacred Harmony awakens embodied awareness of the subtle threads that connect all life.
I went on my first international retreat with Michelle. Her communication leading up to the trip was detailed and thorough, which made it easy to prep for the trip. You can tell Michelle spent a lot of time to meticulously curate the itinerary because it was thoughtful and honored the local culture with various experiences and opportunities to learn more about the country. Michelle is really passionate about what she does and is eager to share her love for yoga, nature, and life with others. -- Melissa M. (Retreat Participant)

Why Michelle's Inspired to Host a Retreat in Nepal
Nepal has called to me since my twenties, when I began exploring world cultures through dance, music, art, and yoga. Over time, that curiosity deepened through my studies of Nāda Yoga, Sound Healing, and Tibetan Buddhist teachings, whose mindfulness practices and reflections on living a meaningful life and dying peacefully resonate with me.
In 2025, I traveled to Nepal for Himalayan Sound Healing Practitioner Training and was met with a profound sense of community and warmth. I was humbled by the generosity and integrity of the people I met--and many of whom I danced with--whose devotional practices flow naturally into daily life.

I returned home feeling called to share what moved me so deeply. My intention in offering this retreat is to create space for loving connection—to our Mother Earth, to one another, to our shared humanity, our ancestors and our personal spiritual paths.

If you’ve been feeling a quiet curiosity, a pull toward the Himalayas, or a desire to practice in a place where devotion and daily life are intertwined, I invite you to listen to that.
This retreat is not about checking a destination off a list. It is about traveling thoughtfully, practicing sincerely, and opening to connection—with the land, with community, and within yourself.
Our group will be intentionally small so that the experience feels personal, spacious, and meaningful. If this journey feels aligned, I would be truly honored to share it with you.

REviews of Root 2 Rise Yoga with Michelle chua:Michelle truly lives out what she teaches. She is so much more than a yoga teacher - I learned this when I went on her exquisitely curated trip that she organized to Costa Rica this past June 2018...Hopefully like me, you'll be delighted by her effervescent love of movement, nature, and all people! Michelle clearly stands out with her beautiful and bright energy. I love how her practice and teaching encompass body, mind and spirit. She not only teaches yoga but lives and exudes it. Michelle not only teaches 'yoga', she embodies it fully with her heart and soul... Michelle is by far one of the best instructors I've ever had, period. Patient, clear in her explanations and demos, and so encouraging... My first yoga class was with Michelle years ago. You can have the best (yoga pose) sequence and not teach from your heart. With Michelle, I also feel her passion when I'm in her class. I can see she loves what she does, and she inspired me to want to teach yoga, too. |
Let's connect:I'm so grateful to have met Michelle! Her kind energy opened up my interest in pursuing yoga and meditation. She is such an incredibly light and soul. She starts with grounding ourselves through mindfulness and breathing exercise. She brings the most authentic energy to the class by sharing the history and understanding behind poses, names, and techniques. I truly appreciate her work and impact on my well-being! I’ve had dozens of instructors over the years, but Michelle is far and away the best yoga mentor I’ve ever practiced with. She epitomizes grace during these difficult times. Michelle has saved my sanity and my back while working from home, keeping me grounded with her sharing of yogic teachings and meditation techniques. Her repertoire of physical asanas is encyclopedic, and I’ve loved learning new poses and stretching my boundaries. Jump in, all. You’ve got this! |
