Guatemala Retreat with Michelle Chua
April 18-25, 2026

Here's our intended flow of activities, pending weather, availability and group needs during the retreat.

DAY 1 – Saturday, 18th

5:30-6:00pm Greet the Land: Silent Mindful Walking
6:30-7:30pm Dinner
8:00-9:00pm Opening Circle & Meditation
Note: From Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport, it takes approximately 3 hours car ride and 15 minutes boat ride to arrive at the retreat center, both provided as private group roundtrip transportation if you join the group transport pick-up/drop-off time that will be given to you after registration.

DAY 2 – Sunday, 19th

​7:30-8:30am Hatha Flow Yoga with 10 minutes Meditation at Diamond Dojo, outdoor lakeside yoga space with panoramic views

10-11am Villa Sumaya Orientation & Harmony Spa Welcome

DAY 3 – Monday, 20th

*9:30-2:00pm Private boat & tour of San Juan La Laguna, a picturesque lakeside village known for weaving and traditional art cooperatives.  We'll also visit a medicinal garden. (Lunch To-Go)

*3:00-4:00pm Mayan Astrology Lecture by a local expert to gain insight into the workings of the Sacred Mayan Calendar, revealing the energetic blueprint of our days and how we align with cosmic cycles

8:30-9:30pm Yin Yoga & Reiki for Deep Relaxation

DAY 4 – Tuesday, 21st

​7:30-8:30am Hatha Flow Yoga with 10 minutes Meditation at Diamond Dojo, outdoor lakeside yoga space with panoramic views
8:30-9:30 Breakfast
*9:30-12:30pm Optional private boat & tour of Tzununá Permaculture Organic Farm & Waterfall Hike, at additional cost

1-2pm Lunch
*2-4pm Cacao Ceremony, led by a local facilitator, to open our heart wisdom and deepen connection with ourselves and each other, while connecting with Xicoy, the Mayan Spirit of Cacao

8:30-9:30pm Yin Yoga & Reiki for Deep Relaxation

DAY 5 – Wednesday, 22nd

​7:15-8:30am Hatha Flow Yoga with 15 minutes Meditation in our indoor yoga shala

*3-5pm Mayan Fire Ceremony, a sacred ritual led by a local Mayan elder for purification, renewal and honoring our interconnectedness.  15-30 minutes private spiritual readings with the Mayan elder may be booked before the retreat at additional cost.

8:30-9:30pm Yin Yoga & Reiki for Deep Relaxation

DAY 6 – Thursday, 23rd

​Either Morning or Evening Yoga with Meditation, TBD
​Breakfast
*8:30-5:00pm Guided Tour of Chichicastenango Market, Central America's largest Mayan market, and the Gumarkaaj Mayan Ruins, the capital of the K'iche' Maya civilization from 1250-1523AD

DAY 7 – Friday, 24th

10am-12pm Guided Forest-bathing with Gratitude Planting in the Garden as offerings to the Earth

8:00-9:30pm Creative Arts Playshop integrating retreat experiences through somatic movement, drawing, music, writing and conscious conversation *No prior art experience required; The focus is on process over product.

DAY 8 – Saturday, 25th

8:30-9:30am Closing Circle & Meditation
