Afternoon Mini-Retreat at Taft Gardens with Michelle Chua of Root 2 Rise Yoga

Celebrate Mother Earth and attune to your inner nature with a rejuvenating afternoon of Yoga, Mindfulness, Soul Movement, healthy refreshments and community fun with like-hearted beings. "Yoga" means "Union," so let's immerse in union with nature on this special day of appreciation!

Start with a silent mindful walking journey throughout Taft Gardens' vibrant spring blooms and pause in diverse open spaces to harmonize your earth body in Hatha Yoga postures, guided by Michelle Chua, Founder of Root 2 Rise Yoga.  All Yoga experience levels, including beginners, are welcome to this accessible practice.  Continue to the amphitheater for Breathwork, Guided Meditation and Soundbath Savasana, resting on the grass among majestic trees and soaking in the vibrations of crystal singing bowls, 

Renewed and refreshed, enjoy tea and healthy snacks before sealing the afternoon with community conscious dance, or Soul Movement.  Invigorate your joyful connection with Mother Earth, your inner source of peace and vitality and new and old friends to enjoy nature with!
Our Itinerary
 2:00pm Arrival
 
2:15-3:30 Hatha Yoga Journey throughout the gardens with Mindful Walking 

3:35-4:00 Soundbath Savasana, Guided Meditation and Space to Journal
 
4:05-5:00 Plant-based Refreshments, Soul Movement Dancing and Closing Circle
What To Bring:
  • Layered comfortable attire for ease of movement
  • Wear sandals or shoes you can easily remove for a barefoot yoga practice or optional earthing
  • A yoga mat you can easily carry on the nature walk
  • Bottled water
  • Optional journal and pen 
  • Optional natural insect repellent and sun protection

 My intention for this afternoon retreat is to hold space for loving awareness, gratitude to Mother Earth, fun authentic community connection and a joyful reverence for Life.

May this afternoon immersion in the thriving nature of Taft Gardens align us with our source of peace and wellbeing, inspiring ways to promote harmony with our planet, each other and ourselves.


Michelle Chua has been practicing yoga since 2001 and facilitating it since 2010.  She's devoted to integrating Yoga and her appreciation for Nature into mindful wholehearted living.  Read more in here bio here.

Complete the form below and send your energy exchange amount via Zelle to Root2RiseYoga@gmail.com (account of Mary Michelle Chua) or Venmo to @root2riseyoga (scan barcode below).  When payment and registration form are received, you'll receive email confirmation.  Location details will be emailed at least 1 week prior to the event.  Please add Root2RiseYoga@gmail.com to your Contacts List to avoid losing the email in your spam folder.
Energy Exchange: Your investment includes tea and refreshments, our retreat group's private use of 264 acres of garden and preserve and a donation to the California Endowment Fund, a non-profit organization with a mission to educate about, preserve and explore the land in Santa Ana Canyon.  It also provides energy exchange for preparation and facilitation of the activities by Root 2 Rise Yoga, a Los Angeles-based community organization aimed at providing Self-empowering wellness resources for diverse people and promoting soulful community connection.
